David has over 25 years’ business experience, working at Board-level for blue-chip organisations including Courage, Do It All, Boots the Chemist and Halfords.
David helped to manage the process of change following the mergers of Courage with Grand Met and Do It All with Payless DIY. He was responsible for the re-invention of the Halfords brand offer and has worked with Skoda cars creating a territory retail model without the traditional showroom. He enjoys working as a Non-Executive Director with young organisations such as Imagesound plc and handbag.com. He helped the launch of Hearst Digital and advised handbag.com in the introduction of web 2.0.

In the public sector he developed and introduced a new distribution strategy with NS&I partnering with Tesco Personal Finance and has worked as a business Mentor within the Regional Development Agencies.
David is a great advocate of collaborative working and believes it’s imperative for business leaders to make a full and invigorating contribution in both setting the direction of their business and supporting their teams deliver.
David has been a member of the ASA Council, Chairman of The Committee of Advertising Practice and Board member of the National Cycle Strategy Board.
He is currently Chair of The Fairtrade Foundation and Highwood Brewery.
