Management and Leadership Programme

Business Need

Although UKTV had recently completed a full re-design of their channels, it was clear that more change would be inevitable as the television industry continues to develop into new areas such as video on demand.  The CEO wanted to ensure that people were in the best possible position to manage such change effectively and positively.  Central to that was the need for managers to be effective in their roles in leading their teams, developing their staff and managing performance pro-actively.

Andrum Solution

Andrum designed and delivered a management and leadership programme which was delivered in a series of two 2-day workshops.  Every manager from the Board down attended these workshops which were structured so that peer managers from different areas of the business attended together.  Content was broad and included the basics of management, leading teams, managing change and emotional intelligence.  The workshops were held in London at an off-site location that mirrored the creative/media style of the business.

Outcomes

A new management culture was established with shared knowledge and skills, language and approach.  Expectations of managers’ responsibilities and accountabilities had been clearly defined and understood which set a new standard and expectations.  The quality of communication between manager and his/her team improved and business relationships were strengthened.  Managers worked more proactively with staff on individual development and personal contribution.  New relationships across functions were forged leading to greater collaboration and understanding across the business.  Managers were more confident in managing change effectively and appropriately.
